VIEC was established by Ms. Vivienne Porter, the Managing Director of the company, in 1997 in New Delhi., India. Ms. Porter has considerable experience in education both as a teacher, Director of an English Language Centre and Director of International Centers at various Australian Universities (Griffith University, University of Western Sydney). At the early stage of her career Ms Porter became an accredited IELTS tester as the Director of studies at the then Northern Territory University (now Charles Darwin University). Ms Porter’s vision was to establish an Educational Agency representing reputed institutions only. The agency has strong ethics and provides comprehensive service to prospective students wishing to study abroad. Over the years, because of its strong ethical approach, VIEC has built an excellent profile and has high credibility in the education and student recruitment industry. VIEC was one of seven agencies in India to be granted the authority by the Australian High Commission to assess student visa applications for Australia. This was under the Pilot Project conducted by the Australian Department of Immigration for India. The project entailed thorough checking of academic and financial bona fides and documentation before recommendation of Visa issuance. In Addition VIEC now have permission for E Visa (Electronic Visa Lodgment). When Trade New Zealand first began marketing their programs in India, The New Zealand Immigration department in conjunction with the NZ Trade office did a thorough check on agents operating in India and only selected 7 to represent their institutions. VIEC was amongst these first 7. British Council has registered VIEC as a UK representative in India. VIEC has also been selected as one of the Preferred Partner of the British Deputy High Commission promoting Education in the UK where such agents have been selected by the Chennai Consulate. Now VIEC is the preferred partner with all the four consulates in India. VIEC is now the IELTS Registration Centre for the British Council. VIEC has also started working with USA and Canadian universities and colleges recently.
